After being a PC gamer for many years finding a friendly public or clan server wasn’t very difficult. Over months you’d
be known for respecting rules and able to give banter as much as take banter with fellow players or with the clan server administrators. If you don’t abide the server rules then you’d be kicked, carry on repeating offences then you’d be banned and 9/10 it would be permanent. Eventually you have no decent servers to play on.
When we ran our own 1942 and battlefield series games servers we were fairly lenient. A couple of warnings and then a ban, however would only be for a week anything further and then the offending player would be able to appeal on our forums. This is where console online gaming is limited.

Problems and Solutions
Console Game Server Rental
To make the whole online experience a better one, being able to rent your own preferred game server would stop all the monkeys out there who constantly base camp or just put a downer on the whole game. This would be 1 step forward as the server could be administered properly creating an environment the player would enjoy.
Game update to include exclusion zones
Googling about xbox server rentals returns absolutely nothing of worth while about the matter in hand, so what else would be done? This is where the other 50% from the gaming manufacture comes in. With the advancement of technologies how hard would it be to put a perimeter around say the main base where enemies can’t enter or they lose health. This approach could only exist on certain gaming platforms, ideal example would be Bad Company 2. Introducing a control mechanism, players on that server can have a fair game without worrying about some base camping rouge player wiping them out as they spawn would be a big thumbs up.
Game Server Software Update
Another option would be to introduce an auto levelling filter. What I mean with this is you get put on a server with players with around the same experience “level” as you. Who’s fault?
This is where playing online fails, miserably. Where does the blame lie? Is it the Xbox Live system or is it the game makers or 50/50? I recon it’s 50/50.
Any of the above would be a fantastic addition to online gaming especially on the xbox platform. These thoughts wouldn’t exactly being rocket science to introduce. This would then hopefully stop people like [S7H]beauregard92 stealing an allies helicopter from Bad Company 2 and base raping.
